All you need is Love

In light of the ever approaching Valentine's Day, I have decided to share about the artwork above our mantle. You might have spotted this little piece of love here or here.

My inspiration for this "artsy fartsy" project is modeled after a Sugarboo Design. I lurve their vintage signs, frames, and pillows but was not willing to hand over 425 bucks for this guy. Sheesh. I first spotted this beaut during a quick monthly trip to my favorite home boutique, At Home, in Homewood. For those of you who know me, know that I am a HUGE Beatles fan. Even more reason to buy, right? Maybe if it was painted by John Lennon himself.

While I was walking through my favorite antique store I discovered two table leaves missing their table. Random, I know, but they had a lot of potential and with no table equals really cheap. I couldn't get home fast enough! The size was perfect along with their wear and tear. After some sanding, black stain, stencil letters, and wall mounts my masterpiece was complete.

Not only are the words meaningful but also the idea that it was once a table. Thinking about all the family dinners and celebrations it might have shared makes me smile and reminds me of the lyrics itself. I hope you are inspired and remember all it takes is some imagination.
